Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

A person has given 3 cheques as security on receiving some finance from me. 2 cheques have bounced, precisely keeping the person informed on the same, I am not getting any response from him. Its already 6 - 8 months time. Kindly suggest a option

you may file a civil suit for recovery.
