Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I have a personal loan & credit card default in India,

my financial position got worse since I have migrated to Australia & couldnt secure a job so far.. doing shitty jobs just to survive in a foriegn country

recently the bank has sent me a legal notice to file a civil suit, but I am not at all in a position to respond,

I would like to know what consequences lead to a person who is not in India & probably never return to India?

in case you are served with the summons, you need to defend yourself by appointing a lawyer here in india and you may do so by sending him a duly notarized power of attorney. your failure to defend yourself may lead to attachment warrants against you clubbed with non bailable warrants. you can return to india but there might be a possibility of your arrest in case you declared a proclaimed offender.

better go for legal representation.
