how to recover moner

One of my friends owes me money, but we don't have a written agreement. What can I do?

Not a wise decision to lend money without an agreement. Ask him to give cheque so atleast he can come in binding of law.

it is a case of friendly loan,so get issue legal notice and raise your demand,and then file recovery suit.
