My brother is a mad. Threatening people to kill. He made some attempt also but not killed. We have medical report also that he is a mad and undergone treatment for 40 days and found no improvement. We don't have enough money to keep him in the psychiatric hospital. Villagers are suggesting me to kept my brother captive by tying him with iron chain inside the home.
Before that I want to know that - whether it is a crime or not, if we hold my brother by captivity.
Could any one please help me to understand the risk of such act.

Instead of captivity, Get help from a good pcychologist.

You can admit your brother in government mental hospital.
