Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

i hired contractor to do white wash.in the process one labour fell on the ground floor and remained unconscious for more than three days. police registered a criminal case against me and NOT AGAINST CONTRACTOR WHO EMPLOYED LABOUR.Complaint with vigillance deptt and concered officer was transferred.
vigillance report is in our favor. FIR must be against contractor.
legal question- police is not able to file charges against me in the court.howlong it will take police not filing chargesand the case be dropped by court AUTOMOTICALLY. OR HOW CAN ONE ENFORCE QUASHING OF FIR IN THE POLICE STATION WHICH IS FACTUALLY WRONG ON FACTS OF CASE

It depends upon the case to case basis and quashing petty cases is common but death case, charge sheet need to be studied to advice you properly.
