We are Christian. We ahve hardly stayed together for one year of our marriage. Subseqnetly, we have mutually agreed for divorce and accoridngly signed the divorce deed on a Stamp Paper of Rs.100/- in front of Notory and witnesses. The same was also signed by my Father-in-law. Till then we are separate and staying at our respective homes/towns (More than 5 years)
I want to remarry. But my father-in-law threatens me as to how I can remarry and told me that the same is not legal cannot remarry

Unless your marriage is dissolved by a decree of divorce you cannot remarry
