Legal Question in Family Law in India

dear sir/madam,

I am 30 f from madurai,married for the past 7 years with 2 children,elder daughter aged 5 and son 1 1/2.ours is a love cum arranged marriage.my husband used to be caring enough and same with me to him.now for the past few months he pretends out te be a psycho to me.uses abusive languages to me and when i or my parents ask him of his behavior,he denies and says i imagine things that never happened,now i live i madurai with my father with both my kids.his parents support their son and r least bothered about me n my kids.my father does not have any regular earning,he is a retired person.with my younger kid i cannot go to a job.my husband does not even care to pay me for my kid's education.now my uestion to you is,weather i can ask him for maintenance without asking for a divorce?
