Can a person who is living with his wife in the same house and under the same roof get divorce from her?

Yes, one can. Desertion is a state of act. You may sleep on the same bed but may not have any physical and emotional relationship.
The grounds for divorce should be available. Sharing of a house or roof has nothing to do with grounds for divorce.
There may be a situation where the house can be shared even after divorce also.

Desertion is your answer. You may have day to day dealing apart from having physical or emotional relationship. But there should be necessary grounds for divorce.
