Legal Question in Family Law in India

ex-girlfriend problem

my ex-girlfriend is threatening to go to police with information about our earlier secret meeting places to defame me and my family. i had only met her 3 times. once in a hotel room and 2 times in a bus-station guest house. It all started when we met online and her family came to my house as we invited them for marriage proposal but they rejected us because our house was small. now i have got married recently to another girl and despite my polite requests my ex-girlfriend continued to call on my cell phone and landline number, i have changed both the numbers but now she is threatening on email. as she is 22 and i haven't used any force with her, it was a voluntary relation from both sides, can she prove anything against me? please advise?

Re: ex-girlfriend problem

If you had sexual intercourse with her it surely would have been with her consent and apparently she is old and capable enough to give her consent. The problem lies in whether the consent was free. If she alleges that she consented only upon your promise to marry her and later you did not keep up your promise, then the consent would be tainted. That way a charge of rape is possible against you. We have seen or read these things happen in this manner.

My suggestion would be that you find out what her demand is and then approach the police yourself first with a complaint of threat of extortion against her if necessary. But do not disclose your intention of going to the police to her. You need a lot of tact to deal with a black-mailer.

This is tough issue! You stucked up badly honestly.

I would advise you to find out what her demand is and then collect enough evidence with you and approach the police yourself and file a complaint of extortion and threat.

If you have not left any proof against you you don't have to worry. Ask her what she wants and then mail me for a solution with full details.

Re: ex-girlfriend problem

YOU CAN BE in trouble you have overtly or covertly made her any promises; otherwise, there is no legal issue involved;

if you have exchanged any mails with her, please let me know for appropriate opinion.
