Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hello
I have been married for 1.5 years and now my husband and my in-laws are forcing me to chage my surname. After having a long discussion they are asking if i can show them legal law or rule which specifes that girls are given the option of adding there husbands last name after marraige only if they wish to do so.
Kindly suggest from where can I get the proof to show them that girls have option of adding there husbands last name after marraige.

I don't understand about the mentality of your husband and in-laws who are forcing to change surname. for this type of person nothing wd help full

they can't force you to change name/surname even after marriage.
