Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi,

My brother and his wife are not in good terms with each other(married two years before). My sis-in-law's family are menacing our family saying that if my brother does not accept their conditions, they will file a case/FIR against our family for "Dowry Case" (which is actually wrong).

I am unmarried female and live in different city separately. So my question is if my sis-in-law file dowry case, will I be also affected with it. What should we do in order to avoid such menaces from their family.

If yes, then how can I escape from this situation. Please advise.

if your sister-in-law file any dowry case this will not affect you.

She may possibly try implicating you. Avoid any direct or indirect contact / communication with her. Do not try to meddle in their affairs. Also avoiding advising your brother one way or the other. Stay cool and independent of their life. If you are implicated in a case, you may seek anticipatory bail.
