Legal Question in Family Law in India

What do respondent do if the matter is at final argument stage & petitioner has suddenly added some extra new facts in his written argument at final argument stage which is not mentioned earlier in his entire pleading(Petition, Affidavit,or cross / any of witness cross ) & neither provided any evidence for the same.(in absence of respondent's lawyer) Is it necessary to bring forth the new facts into court records in writing ?
