Legal Question in Family Law in India

serving summons.through e-mail is valid?

I am indian citizen, working in dubai. my wife filed for maintainance in indian court.the court has given permission to send summons to me through E-mail , registered post. I got her e-mail with attached summons and also regd post.I have returned the regd post saying that I am not living at the address. If I ignore the e-mail and do not respond to summons, 1)does the indian court consider the summons was serverd to me? , 2)does the court consider it as contempt of court? 3) if I do not respond to indian court, does indian court has power to impound my passport in maintainance case? pls help me out.
