Legal Question in Family Law in India

one time alimony

Got married under HMA.I want to divorce my wife.I am working abroad for last 3 years. My query is if in divorce case my wife asked for one time alimony rather than monthy will the amount be decided by the court or court has no power to grant one time alimony?

My lawyer said that court cannot grant one time alimony can only grant monthly alimony. Is it true?
