Legal Question in Immigration Law in India

I am from india, married in feb 2009. My husband was on work visa in USA and i was given a dependent visa. I was in a abusive relation and was everytime battered very badly.my husband left home amd me for 3 months, and then filed for divorce.i filed a counterfile not agreeing for the divorce.due to health and financial problems i came back to india in jan 2010 and was given divorce in USA though i did not agree. now i want to go back to USA and pursue my eductaion , am i eligible for this protection act,

No, you are not eligible for protection under this act. To be eligible, your husband must be a US citizen or a permanent resident (green card holder). I understand from your post that he is on a work visa in the USA.

You may want to apply for a student visa as any other intending foreign student.
