Register the FIR of lost of paper, submit the same to the Tehsildar and get the duplicate papers and then sold your property.

You will have to lodge a police complaint detailing when, where and how you discovered the loss of document. Then of course you can obtain copies from the Registry.

There is also another requirement of public notice. It is better that you do all this through a lawyer and do remember the purchaser may feel confident and safe only when all legal steps have been taken so that there is no cloud over your title.
