Dear Sir,

i got email proof of lending my friends money in India.

now he says he has lost that money in the stock market,

what isthe procedure to get the loan back legally.

ofcourse proof of lending requires to be examined. But, your remedy is to file suit for recovery of the amount lent along with interest. the rent of interest may be agreed rate, if any or the prevailing market rate.

Have you lent the money by cheque or in cash?

You have three (3) years of limitation from the date of loan or acknowledgment to file your claim
