I am a software engineer working for one of the biggest names in Hyderabad. I got married recently and my wife moved to this city. She is an MBA grad and have 2 and half years of banking experience with very reputed private banks in Inda. As usually she was looking for a suitable oppurtunity in Hyderabad and she was offered a position of banking officer bya reputed private bank in hyderabad. The selection took some time and by the time she received the ''Appointment Letter'' from the bank, she came to know that she is 1 month pregnant.

The appointment letter mentioned a clause for medical fitness and wherein some extra tests were to be conducted for female candidates only, the expense of which to be borne by the employer. By sheer Goodwill she informed of her pregnancy to the Regional Head of Hyderabad operations, wherein the person informed that should not be a problem and asked her to go for other medical formalities. She completed all medical tests and was also declared ''FIT FOR SERVICE'' by the examining doctor.

However couple of days lated one senior HR manager from their HQ in Mumbai called her up and denied her of the job merely because of the fact that she is pregnant. She also went ahead in confirming that she

You have to issue a legal notice to the bank for unjustified denial of employment. If they still decline her employment, then move the AP State Human Rights Commission. You can also move the State Woman's Commission for justice. Your wife may never get the job, but she would get compensation for this inhuman behaviour on the part of the bank.
