Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Hi,

I have been discussing with a Korean IT firm on possible job opportunity with them. Based on the discussions so far, they have extended an offer and have signed a contract with them, which states that the employment starts from Sep 1, 2012 to Sep 31, 2014. But, after several discussions with the family I have decided not to pursue this since the family is not willing to relocate to Korea. Will there be any problem if I decided not to join them on Sep 1, 2012 since I have already signed the contract. The contract states that "the term of employment under agreement commences from Sep 1, 2012". Can I assume that it means the agreement will be effective only if I join them on Sep 1, 2012 and if not it would become void? Thanks for the help.
