Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

On Feb 2009 i was started my home renovation work, which consist of demolishing the balcony windows and make the door. My society takes the objection on that, saying i was not taken society permission for this work. So i stopped my work till the society�s next meeting. (This matter was on society meeting agenda and circulated to all members). In the meeting society do not give me any answer/ solution about the work (For meeting out of 8 only 4 members are present including me), so I once again build the wall ( the wall is at same size as it was previously) but instead of sliding window, i make single window which can be open like a door. None of the society member takes objection on that.
On the June 2009, i request the society to issue me certificate saying that i am a member of society and staying in the society, the letter is required for police verification ( regarding my project work ) The secretary accept that letter and told me that he will revert back on that in the society meeting. From June 2009 till Aug. 2009 there was no meeting held in the society. Even this issue is not the part of agenda of society meeting for Sep 2009.
During the meeting when i was asked for my letter, one of the society member take objection for issuing the letter, same has been supported by secretary and chairmen. The member who was take the objection was absent for the meeting occurred in Feb 2009.
I asked them to give me in writing that society would not issue the letter specifying with the reason, but secretary denies that. ( It was also not noted in the Minutes of meeting).
Kindly provide me the further solution as this letter was important as point view of my Job ( same has been communicated to the society ).
