Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

landlord has not executed any writen lease agreement but took Rs.17000/-towards deposit orally agreed that he will not ask us to vecate for short period .and we can stay for a long period.he is working at some other station.we specifically asked if he gets tranfer to this place will he ask us to vecate the house?then he answered that he would not disturb us and said he got someother houses. but all of a sudden within six months after the occupation ,started demanding us to vecate house with in tow months,since he got transferred here.please advise us,how to prceed against him?

in case he is demanding the possession of his property, then what is bar. you may settle your accounts with the landlord and vacate the premises.

You do not need to proceed against him. Instead, you may wait for him to file appropriate case for your eviction and you may defend the same in accordance with law.
