Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

I am staying in a rented house in Bangalore from last 5 years. Land lord stays on the first floor and I am in the ground floor. I was out of Bangalore for 6 months due to my official work and informed the landlord accordingly. I paid the complete rent of the 6 months during the period I was not there in the house. During this period, somebody has broken the front glass of my car which was in the compound. It is known fact that my land owner has broken the car glass. What I want to know is that, when I am not in town, it becomes the responsibility of the land lord to protect the property. Can I clam the damages from the land lord. please advice me.thanks

Thanks & Regards,

MP

You ask the landlord if you are not in town, to give police complaint about the broken front glass. If you have come back then you give the complaint stating that on arrival you found the front glass broken. The police will then act and you can claim the charges from the insurance company. Don't blame the landlord say some unidentified person has done it and let the police find out the truth. Police will investigate and come to some conclusion.
