Legal Question in Personal Injury in India

my car was involved in an accident .my name is anish i was the driver i have a valid license .the steering of my car got jammed and thus i collided with an electric post .but at the time i took the the car to the work shop and did not inform the police or register a police report. i have full insurance or my car .i was also told by the people at the workshop since i was not involded in an accident with another vehichle a police report was not necessary .but my insurance company national insurance refuses to give the claim on the basis of me not having the police report.how can iget my claim ? and why is the insurance company denying my claim can i take any legal action against them?

yes you can take legal action through consumer court.
