Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Hi,

My question is in Hyderabad (Andhra pradesh) is it nessary for both the vendor and vendee to sign the sale deed.Because most of the sale deed i see are only signed by the vendor and not the vendee.

Is the sale deed void if the vendee does not sign and also can rectification be made to sale deed.

Thanks

Sandeep

Prior to year 2000 or 2001, a Sale Deed signed by Vendor alone is OK.

In year 2000 or 2001, amendment to Registration Act was made about affixing signature, thumb impression and photographs of Vendor and Vendee on Sale Deed. Therefore, Sale Deeds from the time of this amendment required to be signed/executed by both Vendor and Vendee.
