Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

An old lady L made a gift of her property to her own daughter R, with a direction to pay a certain sum of money to C, her maternal Uncle. On the same day, R executed an agreement with C agreeing to pay the amount annually. Later on R refused to honor the agreement on the ground that there is no consideration. C sued for the recovery of the annuity To what extent is she liable, Also what is the fate of the contract? Also give the position of English Law through an English case?

Gift deed cannot impose any payment clause.
