If you are sure that registration was not compulsory, then why you want to register now?

Registration of very same document is possible only within 8 months. Thereafter, you need to do a Deed of Confirmation.

A document of property valued for more than rupees one hundred is compulsorily required. However, when you paid the stamp duty, it might have been registered. In any case, your ownership rights are not affected for lack of registration.

There is no requirement of registration at this stage. Even otherwise, it may be time-barred.
