My wife took possession of housing board haryana hig flat on18-12-2012 due to some tax matter she want to transfer it to me(husband) hoever the are 10 years installments re pending that i will paid but transfer charges are6% s per haryana housing board office,after paying full payment 7% conveyance deed charges will be applicale at this stage can by gpa(general power of attorney ) i save the money, is it possible or not?

Inquire, what happens, if she gift it to you and you take up the liability to pay the installments. Some states, stamp duty is much less, in case of gift to family members.

(Dabra, Hisar, Haryana)

The Housing Board will not register the transfer unless and until all the arrears / dues are first cleared. Power of Attorney from your wife to you is meaningless.

Payment of the transfer charges and conveyance deed charges after clearance of all dues is recommended.
