Income Tax Act Notice u/s 131
I am assessed at Mumbai. On the
basis of an anonymous complaint
against me. an ITO of another
district has sent me a summons u/s
131 to submit my returns for the
last 3 years and also appear before
him for giving evidence. Can such
summons be issued by an ITO
other than the Assessing Officer?

Yes ,provided the information of anonymous persson might be about any source of your income which is deriving from the district of the ITO jurisdiction.
