period for limitation for share

since brother died before mother,mother being one of the heir of brother property,was entitled to a share in brother property.Now mother too died.As I being heir of mother what is limit for claiming in court a share in brother property which my mother would have claimed.

Thank you for answers but what is the period of limtation and time from which period begins to run

for filing in court to claim share in brother property. other legar heirs are in possession and I am not in possession of brother property.do inform me period of limitation in this above matter.
