Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

My unmarried brother died leaving all his movable and immovable property, which he bequeathed to me. In most of the mutual funds he had nominated me. However in one mutual fund company, there was no nomination and the mutual fund was in his single name. Now after his death the MF company wants a probated will to transfer the mutual fund in my name. I have been told that the formality and the cost for a probated will in Mumbai is very high. Kindly advice me.

yes it is true that the cost of probated will is high in mumbai

however if succession certificate will suffice you can go for the same
