does my wife has a share in her father's property?

Hi Sir... we live in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. my father in law is having one daughter and two sons. as daughter got married to me can she claim any right in her father's property as it is a self acquired property. i heard in Andhra Pradesh girl is having right in her father's property? if yes how do i claim it. pls help.

If her father has not made any will of his property then yes

as long as your father in law is alive your wife has no right as a matter of right to claim from father . It would be only after death of her father she can claim such right as that of a son in properties of her father

yes according to the latest law laid down by Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Now the girl child has full right in the property of father. If the father has died without Will then she can file a suit for partition and possession even if its self acquired property of the father.

In self-acquired property, children gets a share after death of the original owner.

In your case, your wife and her brothers will inherit equally with their mother after their father's death, and that too if does not leave any Will.
