Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Indiana

My mother filed bankruptcy last year. Included was the house. She had called the mortgage company for help numerous times but to no avail. The mortgage company did not show up to contest the filing and the bankruptcy went thru. Now she is told that she is responsible for the upkeep untill the house resells, as in cutting the grass and stuff. Is this correct
