Limitation Of Recovery Of Debt

a friend of mine, recieved a garnishment of his wages, for a debt of 14 old(1991). they said that they had took it to court to recover debt.the friend took the car back ,a week after the contract to buy.he has not gotten any correspondence fron that time til now. now it was only by garnshiment. he is wndering if no correspondence had been between them , how was this possible, and has a limitation had run out , to collect.please , reply as they are taking $160.00 a week out.should he get a laywer , to fight this.

There has to be more here then meets the eye. In order to have wages garnished, there has to be a judgment against your frined and he should have been served with papers before a judgment could be entered. He needs to obtain an attorney.
