Legal Question in Construction Law in Indiana

My company allowed a former employee to do some personal work in the fabrication shop. The employee was in the shop working of his own free will for his own betterment. He was practicing welding for a welding test in hopes to get into an apprenticeship program. Anyway, he got something in his eye while working. Is my company liable for his injury. Is my company responsible for medical and other costs associated with the injury?

Maybe. If you knew that he was not qualified to operate the machinery and did noit provide supervision, it is a possibility that you may have some liability.
