Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Judgement Against

My mother lives in Hawaii and has property in Indiana. She entered into a lease contract. She was later sued by the company for breech of contract. The case lasted for 12 years and she ran out of money to pay her attorney. As expected wihtout council she lost the case and a judgement has been placed against her for 6 million. My first question is I am planning to enter law school next year and am hoping to try and help her after I graduate ...does anyone know if and how long the court allows for an appeal? Also she wants to ensure the company does not get the property can she sell it and put the money into an account and just allow a bankruptcy court to seize the money instead of the property. It is very personal to her and she wants to ensure the land does not go to the company...

Thankyou for your assistance

Re: Judgement Against

The time to appeal a judgment is measured in days, not years.
