Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Medical Claim-Collection

How do you resolve an issue with a hospital that has sent bills to collections by no fault of patient. Hospital has admitted to submitting claims incorrectly. A total of (5) bills for one date of service are on file (2004). One of which was payed with insurance information provided on date of service. The remaining four have not been submitted correctly. This has led to negative charges on credit report. Hospital insists that because of the time frame and the fact that the didn't have correct info (which is not true)we are now repsonsible for the balance.
