Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

I have a question about a student loan from Salle Mae that has been sold out to another collection agency. They have contactated me threatened to garnish me but I've been repaying once a month $175 a month. for two months now and they have mailed me a packet to fill out that time sensitive. If I refuse to fill it out but continue to repay each month can they garnish me. I don't want to sign the papers please advise?

Thank You,

Wendy A.

They can garnish you up to 15 percent of your net wages, unless they get a judgment against you in which case they can garnish up to 25 percent of your net wages.

As far as whether you should sign the papers, you should have someone help you understand what the papers are. I can't advise you on whether or not you should sign papers unless I know the content of the papers.
