Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Small claims

I have loaned a friend $850.00 to help pay for her rent so she wouldn't get evicted. I wrote her a personal check. She told me 2/5 that she would have the money for me 2/9. She also was an employee and my husband scolded her for doing something wrong. She walked out. I called to let her know her last check was here to pick up and I was wanting to get paid for what I loaned her. She said she wasn't going to pay me back because my husband yelled at her.

I filed today small claims and she'll get served next week.

What are my odds in court? Will I ever see that money again?

Re: Small claims

You are actually asking two questions: will you win your lawsuit and will you collect your money. The first depends on how well you present your case to the judge. The second depends on you being able to find her new job and garnish her wages.
