Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Which State Does My Credit Card SOL Count In?

I just found out that if an Illinois moves out-of-state that their Statute of Limitations (SOL) is put on hold, or 'tolled'...unless moving back to Illinois. Well, I owes some credit cards money, and my official SOL would have began in 2004 since that was my last payment to any of the companies. I thought that I had one more year until these open-ended accounts had a limit of suing me. But, I moved to Indiana 2 years ago...does that toll my SOL...even though the credit card companies still contact me all of the time (at my Indiana address) and were informed of me permanently relocating to Indiana? I originally applied for and received my credit cards in Illinois. So, which State Law's SOL applies to me, Illinois' SOL or Indiana's SOL?

The law depends on the state where they file the lawsuit. Also, a statute of limitations is a defense to a lawsuit and not a bar. You might want to read myh article here for more information: http://haslerlaw.blogspot.com/2008/01/collections-statute-of-limitations.html
