Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I have a 10 year daughter and he father has not seen her in 5 whole years. Also he just went to trial for a double murder-he was found NOT GUILTY- however I am not conviced he did not do it and refuse to let my daughter have any contact with him- he is also done crystal meth and home invasions to suuport his habbit but these issues have not been proven by the courts. Please give me some advise for when he does call and demands to see her. What are my right and what should I do?????

You should talk to a counselor about how to reintroduce father to daughter after five years of no contact, to see how the counselor would suggest handling it. You need to have a lawyer ask the court to restrict or eliminate his visitation rights. You should list for the court father's behavior over the last five years, and be prepared to explain how things have changed since he received rights of parenting time.

If there is an order granting him visitation, and his conduct has never been brought up in that court and has occurred since 10 years ago, you need to hire an attorney to modify the court's prior order. Good luck.
