Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

What can I, the mother of a one year and 4 month year old, expect form Paternity Court, that will also deal with child support and custody issues? The father has not helped since birth, but all of a sudden decides he wants in my sons life.

The court will detemine support amounts and can go back to the time of birth. The court can also order him to pay for part or all of the pregnancy costs not covered by insurance as wel las medical costs for the baby since the date of birth. If he makes substantially more money than you do, he may be ordered to pay for your attorneys fees. Absent extraordinary circumstanced. he will be entitled to parenting time and I encourage you to visit the Indiana Judiciary Website and download a copy from there.
