Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I received a summons for a dissolution of marriage. My husband filed. On the back page it says he wants to be awarded sole custody & i would have to pay maintenance & support. I questioned him and he said his lawyer told him that's how all the divorce proceedings start out until we agree on everything. Is this true?

No. In fact it is very rare in Indiana for maintenance to be awarded. I suggest that you hire your own attorney.

Not common at all. You really need to get a lawyer involved ASAP
