Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Appeal

After judgement against me, I filed a motion to reconsider. I waited for a response and never got one so I called the small claims clerk to find out why I hadn't received anything from the court and she said that it had came back undeliverable. The judge denied my request for the reconsideration. I asked about filing an appeal but the clerk said that I couldnt because the 30 days was up. My question is, can I get around the 30 day deadline because I didn't receive anything from the court in time to file an appeal? I filed the motion to reconsider just 2 weeks after the judgement. Also, they had my correct address, there was no reason that my mail should have bounced back to them.

Re: Appeal

I do not think so. But I suggest finding someone who concentrates in appeals. This is a bit off the beaten path.
