Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

I was born with the last name Blood you n 1967. My mom married a man that same year. His last was Miranda. All my life I though my last name was Miranda. I recently discovered that I was never adopted by Mr. Miranda. Yet somehow, I have a social security card under the name Miranda. I draw social security benefits under the name Miranda. My mom has no clue how my name was changed. Mr. Miranda has been deceased since 2005 so I can't ask him. Social Security records indicate that my name was changed in 1986. I can't get proper state identification without proof of who I am. I have no clue who I am. I really need help.
