Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Mismanaged finances by conservator

My boyfriend had a contract with an

organization to temporarily manage

his finances. I'm not sure if they

were declared legal conservators, but

there was a written agreement for

financial management. They

received his SSI income directly, paid

his monthly bills, and dealt with his

mental health care. During that time

they allowed a prescription bill of over

$10,000 to accrue when they had

access to drug samples as well as

information for the Patient Assistance

Program from drug companies, which

would have allowed him to receive

his prescriptions at a very discounted

rate (maybe $5 a month per drug).

What should we do?

I have to agree with the previous answer: get the agreement reviewed by an attorney. One other thing, about the the debt: no one can garnish SSI for this kind of debt.

He may be able to file suit. The agreement needs to be reviewed by an attorney.
