Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

Pizza Delivery guy

We have ordered pizza's from a local establishment for years. One of the delivery drivers returned to our home at 3:00 A.M. to bring a ''special gift to the lady of the house'' police were called, he left. Returned 3 weeks later dressed as an officer, came to the house 3 times in 2 hour span, was arrested for trespassing and impersonating an officer. Has prior arrest for doing same thing to another pizza customer. Should pizza delivery persons have background checks? Is the restaurant where he worked liable in this case? This man obviously knows where we live and knows our name and phone number.

Re: Pizza Delivery guy

There is no law requiring background checks of pizza drivers. Nevertheless, it is a good idea and I do believe that you could assert a claim for Negligent hiring if you have suffered damage.
