husband was made excuter of mothers will he was to turn property over to his uncle only for it to be turned back over to him if he was taking care of the place. just found out uncle wants to sale the place and we were told that this place was to remind in the family and not to be sold

You should cheerfully pay a lawyer in the state where this land is being probated to review the will and other documents associated with this question. There are too many variables to provide an intelligent answer on the internet. But, if the property is in Indiana, and your husband is the executor, then your husband must do what the will says. Verbal instructions in Indiana are difficult to enforce. If the will doesn't say what is to be done, then the property can be distributed to the beneficiaries. If there are multiple beneficiaries, and one of them wants to sell, then the other beneficiares don't have much choice except to buy him out or go along with the sale. Good luck.
