Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

summons citation - civil

Credit card company taking me to court, never owned the card. 64 yrs old, retired, no income beside SS check. Card company sent me a charge off paper, lost it. I've asked them to send me proof of the debt - no response. Assets 1996 Escort 151,000 miles on it. Rent don't own. Summons states from a debt collector. Will my SS check be taken away to pay the debt? If I don't appear in court will I be arrested?

Thank you for any help

Re: summons citation - civil

You need to respond. DO NOT BLOW THIS OFF. They can get a default judgment against you. At that point, they will begin collection proceedings.

Call a lawyer in your area. Now. But do not fail to appear.
