Fired after resignation was accepted

Contract position: Professor of nursing: asked to resign. Relieved of duties immediately. Resigned effective at the end of semester. Resignation accepted via certified mail. Then university proceded to dismiss me for cause. Is this a breach of contract?

Re: Fired after resignation was accepted

Not enough information to know the answer. Was there a contract? What did it say (what were the terms and conditions?). As to the question of whether you were fired or resigned, they certainly cannot fire you if you resign.

Implications here that they might have been concerned about a lawsuit (discrimination of some kind), or unemployment compensation.
