Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

I live in Indiana and work for a Regional Bank headquartered in another state. They owe me $250.00 for unreimbursed mileage and $1,400 for an unpaid referral fee (we get paid a referral fee for sending business to another dep't like mortgage, private bank, commercial, etc...). I have repeatedly asked via e-mail for this payment and have copies of all of the responses telling me the $ will be paid. I plan to quit in October but want to get paid. Should (can) I sue in small claims court, and should I do it before or after I leave? Could I also ask for additional money to compensate me for my time and the headache that this has caused? I'm not litigious and have never been involved in a legal issue, but I am getting nowhere by continuously asking. It's also uncomfortable to work there with this issue unresolved. 1 more thing...the supporting documents to prove the referral happened are brokerage statements with confidential information. I have these, but am leary about telling the bank I have them since they are no longer my client.

Many Thanks,
